After vehemently and repeatedly denying that its nuclear scientists had provided technology to North Korea, Iran, Libya and Iraq, Islamabad was recently forced to admit that some individuals might have leaked information for 'personal profit.' The admission came after Iran disclosed to UN inspectors the names of Pakistani scientists who had helped develop Tehran's secret nuclear programme. One of those under suspicion is Abdul Qadeer Khan, the 'father' of Pakistan's nuclear programme, a national hero and a special adviser to president Pervez Musharraf.
