At least fifteen people, including three children, were killed and several others injured in two missile strikes carried out by suspected US drones in Pakistan's troubled North and South Waziristan tribal regions on Friday.
In the first incident, a drone fired at least three missiles at the home of a tribesman in a village near Mirali, the main town in North Waziristan Agency. Some foreigners were believed to be present in the house at the time of the attack, television channels reported.
There was no official word on the incident though television channels reported that eight persons, including militants, were killed and several others injured in the missile strike.
In the second incident, a drone fired at least two missiles in Gangikhel area of South Waziristan Agency, killing seven persons, including three children.
Pakistan's restive tribal belt has witnessed a wave of missile strikes since mid-2008 though these were the first such attacks since the new administration of US President Barack Obama assumed office in Washington.
