Delhi Police on Tuesday filed a third chargesheet in September 13 serial blasts in the national capital naming seven persons for their involvement in the criminal conspiracy of carrying out the explosions.
The police charged the seven accused with various offences, including murder and attempt to murder, under the Indian Penal Code and invoked the provisions of Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Those named in the chargesheet are Mohd Saif, Zeeshan, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar, Mohd Shakeel, Quamuddin and Mohd Sadiq Sheikh.
Except Mohd saif, all six accused are in Ahmedabad where the police is looking into their alleged role in blasts there.
According to the police, all the accused were involved in the criminal conspiracy of carrying out blasts in the capital while accused Zeeshan and Sajid, already killed in Batla House encounter on September 19, had planted the bomb at Barakhamba Road here.
The blasts at Barakhamba Road in New Delhi had claimed the life of two persons besides injuring several others.
In the chargesheet filed before additional chief metropolitan magistrate Sanjay Bansal, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Yadav listed 78 persons as prosecution witnesses for proving its charges against the accused.
The police filed two chargesheets last month in the serial blasts cases registered with Karol Bagh and Greater Kailash police stations.
Taking the chargesheets into consideration, the courts issued production warrants against six accused, who are in the custody of Ahmedabad police.
ACP Yadav said that forensic reports of a seized laptop, mobile phones and other documents were pending and would be filed later.
Delhi Police also secured non-bailable warrant against 12 absconding accused for February 14.
A total of five FIR were registered in the September 13 blasts, which had claimed the lives of 26 persons, besides injuring scores of others.
