An alleged Lashkar e Tayiba operative, Imran Shehzad, suspected to be involved in the November 26 terror attacks, was on Thursday remanded in police custody till January 22 by a local court in Mumbai.
The Mumbai crime branch, which is probing the case, had taken custody of Imran from Uttar Pradesh police.
He was produced before a metropolitan magistrate who sent him to police custody.
Imran was arrested last year for his alleged involvement in the attack on a CRPF camp at Rampur in Uttar Pradesh on December 31, 2007.
Two other accused in the case -- Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed -- who are currently in police custody till January 12 in connection with the firing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, were brought to Mumbai on December 18.
According to the crime branch, the trio had allegedly undergone arms training in LeT camps in Pakistan.
Public prosecutor Eknath Dhumal argued that Ansari and Sabauddin had allegedly conducted a recce of the city prior to the terror attack and had submitted information about prospective targets to other LeT operatives.
"We suspect that Imran had aided the duo in conducting the recce," Dhumal said.
Imran, asked by the court if he had any complaints against the police, said that he was not involved in the Mumbai strikes and that he wanted an advocate from the legal aid cell to defend him.
