Abu Basher, a key accused in the Ahmedabad blasts case, was on Wednesday brought to New Delhi by Gujarat Police to verify 'certain links and leads' as he had allegedly stayed in a house in the national capital with terror mastermind Abdus Subhan Qureshi alias Tauqeer, who is also wanted for the Delhi blasts.

"He (Basher) is in our remand and we have taken him to Delhi to verify certain links and leads," Director General of Gujarat Police P C Pande told PTI.
A SIMI activist, Basher, who was nabbed in Uttar Pradesh last month in connection with the Ahmedabad serial blasts, is allegedly also involved in the terror strike in Lumbini Park in Hyderabad last year.

According to police, Basher, who had worked as a teacher in a Hyderabad-based madrasa for almost two years from 2005, had stated during his interrogation that he had stayed with Subhan in a house in Zakir Nagar in New Delhi in July.

Subhan has been named by the Gujarat police as being one of the masterminds behind the Ahmedabad terror strike.
He is also accused of having sent the threatening emails for terror group Indian Mujahideen from Mumbai.
