Popular Telugu actor and N T Rama Rao's son N Balakrishna appears to be gearing up for an imminent political foray, an apparent bid to counter the impact of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi on the Telugu Desam Party.
As a precursor to his political entry, Balakrishna on Friday inaugurated an 'Annadanam' (mass feeding) programme at the charitable trust named after his mother late Basava Tarakam, on Thursday.
Talking to media persons, he said he had come to extend support to his fans and TDP activists who took up charity to help the poor.
Replying to a query, he vowed to work for regaining the glory of TDP. He would participate in TDP's youth convention at Guntur later this month.
Balakrishna, a brother-in-law to TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, has been holding consultations with him on the possible impact of Chiranjeevi's political entry on the regional party.
Balakrishna's daughter Brahmani is married to Naidu's only son Lokesh.
Last week, Naidu hosted a lunch for Balakrishna, NTR's other son Harikrishna and his actor sons -- junior N T Rama Rao and Kalyanram where campaign strategies were discussed.
