Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy said that Karnataka, and Bengaluru in particular, has always been an eye sore for Andhra Pradesh and the rest of the country when there was stability there.
Reddy, who is in Karnataka to campaign for the Congress in several parts of the state, said that Karnataka was always ahead of Andhra Pradesh when the Congress ruled Karnataka.
However, he said, Andhra Pradesh is way ahead today and thanks to the instability that prevailed in Karnataka since the past two years. He said a glaring example would be the international airport in Bengaluru, for which work commenced way before the Hyderabad International airport. However the Bengaluru airport is yet to take off, while the one at Hyderabad is functional since the past one and a half months.
Reddy further said that Congress makes election promises only if they can be fulfilled. He said all promises made in Andhra Pradesh during elections have already been fulfilled and that Karnataka will be no different. He also added that every six months, they had a review to check whether the election promises were being fulfilled.
Reddy will start campaigning in Bengaluru and then move to Bagepalli, which incidentally has a large population of Telugu-speaking people. He is slated to campaign at Bellary in the second phase.
