Mumbai-based Vinit B Acheria, who sent hate mails to four senior Left leaders, threatening to eliminate them for their opposition to the India-United States nuclear agreement and harassing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Monday apologised for his action.
By eliminating he meant removing from Indian politics, Acheria clarified in an e-mail received by the Communist Party of India headquarters in New Delhi at 11.45 am today.
The e-mail is addressed to Communist Party of India - Marxist General Secretary Prakash Karat and his CPI counterpart A B Bardhan and two other senior Left leaders Sitaram Yechuri and D Raja.
He also furnished his residence address and fax number -- only to express that he had no criminal intention.
''I regret and apologise for expressing my views in harsh and bad language. I hope you will accept my sincere apology,'' he added.
While asking the Left leaders to refer to his earlier e-mail dated June 21, he explained that if he had any criminal intentions, he would have not mailed the letter from his e-mail ID and mentioned his telephone number.
In the threatening e-mails sent to top Left leaders, they were asked to stop 'behaving like terrorists'.
