The popular Telugu film star Chiranjeevi, who is all set to announce his political party next month, has exuded confidence that his proposed party will sweep the next elections and come to power with overwhelming majority.

Breaking his silence on his political plans, Chiranjeevi told reporters in Hyderabad that he hopes to win 225 of the 294 assembly seats in the state and form his own government.

When asked which particular constituency he will choose for himself, the mega star said he had not made any decision.

"I can contest from any of the assembly seats across the state," he said.

Speaking for the first time to the media about his political future, Chiranjeevi said about twenty names were under consideration for his party and he will personally announce the name, agenda and the flag of the party at a media conference some time between August 15 and 22, latter being his birthday.

However, he evaded many important questions on key issues like the separate Telangana state and reservations for his Kapu community. "I will go in accordance with the aspirations and thinking of the people at large", he said.

The actor said that he would first announce the formation of his party at a media conference and then organize two massive public meetings at Hyderabad and temple town of Tirupati. Similar meetings will be held later at Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and other parts of the state.

Interestingly, Chiranjeevi gave media the credit for his political plans. He said that the speculations in the media about the possibility of his entry in to politics had given him the idea to enter politics to serve the people.

On a question about several leaders quitting their respective parties and queuing up outside his gates to join the new party, Chiranjeevi said that a decision will be taken about every leader after closely scrutinizing his past record.

Even though party was yet to be named, Chiranjeevi's camp has started readying its electioneering material. Ananta Sriram, famous Telugu film writer, is penning the campaign songs for the party.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi's younger brother and another popular actor Pavan Kalyan said that the people were looking for a leader who could carry along all the sections of society and take the state on the path of development and prosperity. Addressing a meeting of lawyers, Pavan Kalyan said that people were confident that such a change can be brought about only by Chiranjeevi.
