The ATS is probing the vital e-mail lead that was sent from an American citizen's hacked computer account in Navi Mumbai's Gunia building which could throw light on the serial bomb blasts that shook Ahmedabad on July 26.
"We will surely have something positive to share with the media by the end of this week," the ATS chief said.
While the owner of the flat as well as the American citizen whose computer was hacked, have been probed, he added, nothing concrete has emerged yet from the investigation.
"Till we complete our inquiries I would not like to hazard a guess on if the person who hacked the IP address did it from around the same vicinity," said Karkare.
An underground hacker told rediff.com that the range of a residential wi-fi connection is limited within a radius of not more than 25 to 30 metres and the person who sent the e-mail must have been in the building itself or in the vicinity of the building to hack into an unsecured wi-fi network.
Three cars laden with explosives that did not explode in Surat were stolen from Navi Mumbai. Karkare said the cars were stolen from three areas of Navi Mumbai: Nerul, Panvel and Vashi.
The ATS chief said he would not like to hazard a guess if the cars were stolen by individuals who had access to a building's parking lot but reiterated that within the next couple of days the ATS would come out with something very conclusive.
