Bollywood actor and Congress MP Govinda on Wednesday said he would attend Lok Sabha on July 22 when the United Progressive Alliance government seeks a trust vote.

Addressing a press conference at his suburban Juhu residence to clarify reports in a section of the media that he would skip the special session due to his shooting schedule, Govinda said he had rescheduled his departure to London to shoot for Vinay Sinha's film tentatively titled Showman from July 21 to 25.

Govinda said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi spoke to him two days ago and told him that the date when all the MPs should gather in Delhi will be conveyed on Thursday.

Asked about his views on Indo-US civilian nuclear deal, Govinda said his party and government had taken a decision which is in the best interest of the people and he had no different views on the matter.

He said that in the last four and half years deliberate attempts had been made to spoil his relationship with Congress leaders and the people in his constituency of north Mumbai.

He said repeated that the "mischievous campaign" against him did not bother him as long as his party had faith in him.

He refused to say whether his detractors were from within Congress or from the opposition.

"I have been true to the party since I joined and elected to the Lok Sabha. Many thought that I would run away before my term ends," Govinda said.

To a question on whether he was interested in contesting the election again, he said that in 2004, he had contested because he was asked to do so. "It is upto the party to decide whether I should be given a ticket."

Asked whether the trust vote on July 22 would be a cakewalk, Govinda replied there is no cakewalk in politics.
