The Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday said it will vote against the government in the Lok Sabha in the confidence vote if a resolution is not passed on formation of separate Telengana state.
Numbers game clearly favours nobody
TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao, whose party has three MPs and has been campaigning for a separate Telangana state, on Sunday reiterated its demand for a resolution by the Union Cabinet in favour of Telangana.
He accused the Congress of betraying the people of Telangana for the last five decades. Rao said his party had not decided on aligning with any political party for the trust vote.
Analysis: Options before the UPA
The TRS chief was critical of the state Congress leadership over the Telangana issue saying said 'they are misleading and deceiving Telangana people and TRS will not keep quite till it achieved the statehood for Telangana'.
The TRS has drawn up an agitational programme from Tuesday, which includes all religion prayer meetings, road blockades, protests at Congress MPs' houses and college boycotts.
