Riot-hit Indore is fast returning to normalcy with the district administration lifting curfew in areas under the jurisdiction of 18 police stations out of the total 24 in the city.
In the remaining six police stations, curfew will continue during the night in order to maintain law and order, officials said after a high-level district administration and police meeting to review the situation.
They said curfew in the sensitive Khajarana, Raoji Bazar, Pandharinath, Sadar Bazar, Chhataripura and Malharganj will continue from midnight to 0600 hrs.
According to the police, though curfew has been lifted in the 18 police stations, Section 144 will continue as precautionary measures.
Curfew was imposed on the city on July 3, following large-scale violence in the wake of VHP's bandh call in protest against the Jammu and Kashmir Government's decision to revoke land allotment to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
Seven persons were killed and scores were injured during the bandh in the business town of Madhya Pradesh.
