A day after it recorded the season's lowest temperature, Mumbai enjoyed a relatively warmer weather on Monday with the mercury rising by almost 2 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department's Santacruz station in the suburbs recorded a minimum temperature of 12.1 degrees Celsius against Sunday's minimum of 10.2 degrees Celsius, the lowest in over four decades.

Temperatures over South Mumbai rose with the Colaba station in the city limits recording a minimum temperature of 15.7 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai, known for its hot and humid weather, has been witnessing lower than usual temperatures for the past few days. The low temperature in the financial capital has been attributed to the cold wave sweeping North and Central India.
