Fifteen people were killed and 21 others injured when a private bus collided head-on with a truck on the Agra-Mumbai highway, 10 km from Guna on Monday, the police said.
Ten people, who were seriously injured, were shifted to a hospital in Gwalior, while others were being treated in Guna, Superintendent of Police Yogesh Choudhary told UNI.
The private bus was on its way from Guna to Kumbhraj when it met with the accident at a Ghat section. Seven people were killed on the spot.
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed grief over the accident and announced compensation of Rs 50,000 each to the next of kin of the dead. He also sought proper treatment to the injured, official sources said.
