Fifty-nine people from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Samajwadi Party have been arrested since Monday evening for indulging in incidents of violence and clashes in different parts of the city, police said on Tuesday.
"We have arrested a total of 92 persons till now, including 73 from the MNS and 19 from the SP for indulging in violence, which started on Sunday afternoon," Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) K L Prasad told PTI.
More arrests are expected and police teams are already working on leads, he added.
Prasad had pegged the total number of arrests in the city at 33 last evening.
Meanwhile, there was no major incident of violence reported in the city since on Tuesday morning.
MNS supporters had been targeting North Indians in the city and other parts of the state since February three following MNS chief Raj Thackeray's criticism of Amitabh Bachchan for choosing Uttar Pradesh over Maharashtra for his girls' college.
