Come August 21, all the shows in the Big 92.7 FM will make way for RJ (Radio Jockey) Dheena, who will attempt a Guinness Record by hosting a marathon 150-hour radio show.

Dheena already has a Limca Book of Records listing with a 92.7 hour show to his credit, which he achieved last year and now wants to set a new benchmark of 150-hour show.

Dheena, the well-known RJ in the Chennai circuit, told media persons in Chennai on Tuesday that though the aim was to surpass the existing record of 135 hours set by Italian RJ Stefano Venneri of Radio BBSI Station in Italy last year, he however wanted to set a new benchmark.

"I just don't want to surpass a record but also create a new record that would be hard to surpass with," he said, adding he would strictly adhere to guidelines laid out by the Guinness committee, ranging from interval periods to the duration of a song.

"For instance, I cannot rest for more than five minutes per hour while a song cannot go beyond six minutes. Further, there cannot be a co-jockey and I cannot allow guests to speak for more than a minute," he said. All medical precaution would be taken before he would go on air for about a week.

The footage and records signed by witnesses, who would witness the show for four hours, would be sent to the Guinness Committee, P B Ramasamy, Cluster Director, Big 92.7 FM, Tamil Nadu, said.

Public would also be allowed to inspect the show, he added.
