A day after slamming Pakistan for interfering in its internal affairs, India on Thursday rejected the comments made by the Organisation of Islamic Comference on Jammu and Kashmir and said the OIC had no locus standi on such issues.
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said the OIC had once again chosen to comment upon Jammu and Kashmir and India's internal affairs on which the organisation has no locus standi.
"We note with regret the statement made by the OIC secretary general on the situation in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. OIC has once again chosen to comment upon Jammu and Kashmir and India's internal affairs on which it has no locus standi. We reject such comments," Sarna said in response to a question.
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu had condemned "the ongoing excessive and unwarranted use of force against Kashmiri people" and urged the Indian government to end the violence in the interest of sustaining the India-Pakistan peace process.
