Coverage: Bengaluru Blasts

The crude bomb containing ammonium nitrate was packed with nuts and bolts and wrapped in a red cloth.

The bomb was found at a small town called Channapatana, which is around 50 km from Bangalore city.

The police feel that it could be the handiwork of some mischief monger, but are not ruling out a terror aspect to the incident.

'Bombs used in Bengaluru more sophisticated than in Ahmedabad'

This is the second time that a bomb has been found in Channapatana. The last time a bomb was found was a day before the serial blasts in Bangalore. The police had also taken into possession large quantity of ammonium nitrate, which -- it is believed -- was dumped by terrorists.

The police had said that the material was being smuggled in from Kerala through Mysore and that the material may have been dumped due to the fear of getting caught. At around the same time, a low intensity blast also took place in Channapatana. However, no one was injured in the blast.
