VHP files case against Karunanidhi in Mumbai court

Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Wednesday filed a case in a Mumbai court against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for deliberately hurting the sentiments of Hindus by insulting Lord Ram.

VHP secretary Professor Venkatesh Abdeo said the case has been filed under Sections 295 A and 153 A of the Indian penal code in the Borivali metropolitan court of Magistrate N H Mohabe.

He said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had questioned the existence of Lord Ram, adding, "He went a step ahead and even called Ram a drunkard."

The case has been filed by VHP Mumbai secretary Arun Handa, he said.

The hearing of the case has been fixed for October 5.
