Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said her party can go for a seat adjustment with former premier Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (N) in the general elections. She said the PPP was ready to initiate dialogue with any party that favoured democracy.
Benazir said an interim government must be set up by taking all parties into confidence. The former prime minister said the government had discussed setting up an interim political arrangement with her, but the issue of the caretaker prime minister was yet to be discussed, the Daily Times reported.
She said those opposed to the restoration of democracy in Pakistan were backing extremists, adding that the entire country was facing a security problem and people must support the struggle against radicals to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from the country.
