B S Yeddyurappa is a happy man today. He has been formally invited by Governor Rameshwar Thakur to form the government in Karnataka.
Yeddyurappa was called by the governor on Friday evening and invited to form the government in Karnataka. The governor sought to know from the Bharatiya Janata Party leader the exact time and date as to when the swearing in ceremony could be held.
Yeddyurappa told the governor that he would discuss with party workers and also the Janata Dal-Secular legislators who are part of the coalition and get back to him by Friday night.
The governor said that once the date and time is confirmed, he would inform Rashtrapati Bhavan about the same following which the swearing in ceremony would be held.
Yeddyurappa who was seen smiling after a very long time said that he was happy that things had shaped up this way and added that now it time to get back to work.
There are contradictory reports regarding the date of the swearing in ceremony. While a section of the BJP wants the ceremony to be held on Sunday, Yeddyurappa feels that Monday would be an auspicious day.
According to astrologers, Monday is auspicious for Yeddyurappa since he is a devotee of Lord Shiva.
The BJP and the JD-S have prepared a list with the portfolios, but are yet to zero down on it.
Sources said that the list would be finalised by Sunday morning.
The BJP has also decided to make the swearing in ceremony a quiet affair and would not go around creating a nuisance to the public.
