Asserting that "military solution is no longer possible" for conflict resolution, President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said Pakistan's peace talks with India were progressing well and a "good outcome" is expected soon.
"People in India and Pakistan have come to a situation where they want peace, and military solution is no longer possible," Musharraf told reporters in Abu Dhabi at the conclusion of his two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Musharraf is on a whirlwind regional tour, which also took him to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
"Peace talks with India were progressing well with the Confidence Building Measures favourably moving forward. Apart from CBMs, there was movement towards conflict resolution," he said adding, "we may be seeing good outcomes of all this soon."
"I took this opportunity to brief His Highness (UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan) on the developing peace process between India and Pakistan, and the progress the two countries have made over the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir," Musharraf said.
