Villagers carry their belongings as they flee Nandigram, some 100 Kms south of Kolkata, January 7, after clashes between villagers and a gang of armed men.

Two people were killed and at least a dozen injured in a dispute over the proposed acquisition of farmland in India's Marxist-ruled eastern West Bengal state, an official said.
