Responding to the growing uneasiness within the Janata Dal-United for dumping the Bharatiya Janata Party, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has announced that all party leaders will be given a ticket to contest the elections.
The former CM was getting feelers during the past few days that the party existed only for the father (JD-S chief Deve Gowda) and his sons. With a view of putting an end to this problem, sources say that he will field as many candidates as possible in the forthcoming elections. "There is nothing to worry and all leaders will be given a ticket," Kumarswamy said.
Kumaraswamy says that he is hopeful of convincing M P Prakash to return to the party.
Prakash at present has taken a neutral stance and is awaiting developments on the political front.
There is news of the Bahujan Samaj Party entering the fray in Karnataka and if things work out as planned then Prakash may go the BSP way.
The BSP and the Congress say both parties will stay away from each other and there shall be no post or pre-poll alliance between the parties.
Leaders in the Prakash camp say that they will hold a meeting on December 12 to decide on the final course of action to be taken. The rebel leaders say that the time has come to think from the mind and not from the heart. There are expected to be several developments, politically in the forthcoming days and depending on how things shape up, they will decide on their future.
Watching Prakash's moves closely, one gets the impression that he is awaiting a concrete move by both the BSP and the Janata Dal-United before taking any decision.
Insiders in the Prakash camp suggest that his ideologies and the ones being adapted by the Gowda clan do not seem to match.
Prakash has compromised too many times in the past and this time it would be unfair on him to do so once again.
