"We don't have a decision at the moment whether we are going to field a candidate or not," Pakistan's Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told reporters in Islamabad.
She said there was no deadline to field a candidate and few more candidates have emerged during the past few weeks and the second straw poll was scheduled to be held on September 20. Tharoor came second in the first straw poll held in August among the Security Council member countries.
"The field is still wide open. There are new candidates and we have enough time to take decision," she said.
