He was not pretentious
The only leader who had the courage to take on so many useless others along with him has left for his heavenly abode. A man, with a humble beginning, was a friend of the youth. I met him once in a public gathering in Delhi way back in 96.he was not pretentious. That was his biggest strength. A rock amongst the shifting sands has finaly succumbed to treachery by his brother. I think that was the only way he could have been stopped. The loss to the nation is irreparable.

A warm person
I met Pramod Mahajan in the year 2002 in Singapore. He had come to inaugarate a Symposium of Indian IT providers in Singapore. I was representing my organisation there and he came up to me and checked what we do,asked a few basic queries. I recall he was wearing a good perfume and came across as a warm person. Later he addressed the press and cited some witty anecodotes which had the audience in splits. I recall one joke which he cracked. He said if someone plans to bomb the world trade centre in the morning in India there would be hardly any casualties (he meant Indians reach late to work).

I served him food
I had at least a dozen opportunities when I served him his dinner / lunch at Hyatt Regency Delhi at his favourite outlet TK's. He always used to sit on the farther side of the restaurant and was very experimental with the food. His favourite drink "Blue lagoon" always reminds me of his outstanding taste for cocktails. It's really difficult to digest that he had such traumatic end to his life. I know I can never see him again. May God bless his soul!

I worked closely with him
I know Promodji very closely, I met with him 2 times personally and we have organised functions for him 2 times while he was cabinet minister and then recently in New York city, I am a BJP activist, I met Pramodji recently in united plaza hotel in United Nations for almost 30 minutes one to one in november 2005. We also organised dinner and community and press meeting for him in maharaja restuarent, he answered all questions of community and press for almost 90 minutes very eloquently. He also waited while everybody took pics with him.

He had charisma
This was about 6 months ago in Fairfax, VA. Friend of mine called me to see if I would be interested to join in a luncheon for Pramod Mahajan. I was not enthusiastic initially as I presumed that he is another typical politician. However, my friend was bit persuasive So I went there. There were barely 50 of us and Pramod pretty much came on time. He was friendly and chatty.
He did not take big lunch or anything. Basically, nibbled few vegetarian items and then wentdias and started his lecture. It was very informative and enlightening and took some questions. He handled all the questions very nicely even the controversial ones. I shook hands with him. He asked me where I was originally from. I told him that I am from AP. I got the impression that he has immense potential as he his dynamic, knowledgeable, engergetic and had charisma.
