It's also a day many Mumbaikars will not forgive in a hurry.
For it was not merely a day when the skies opened up over suburban Mumbai in a freak cloudburst, flooding it with 944 mm of rain and bringing it to its knees, it was also a day when the authorities displayed that disaster management as a concept was alien to the country's richest city.
The city government has since spent crores of rupees in ensuring the nightmare won't recur but for those affected on July 26, 2005, they remain mere words, till the next disaster strikes.
Were you one of those who were caught up in the nightmare that was 26/7? How badly was your life and neighbourhood affected in the downpour? And what kind of corrective work, if any, has been done by the authorities since then?
Tell us how it has been this last one year, and if you fear a recurrence.
