Zaheera Shaikh, undergoing conviction for contempt of court in a Nasik jail, has become a workaholic and taken up sewing and embroidery to keep herself occupied, according to her lawyer Umesh Deshpande.
"Zaheera does not want to spend her time gossiping in jail with fellow prisoners, but wants to do something worthwhile," Deshpande said.
Earlier, when she was lodged in a Mumbai jail, she had taken up computer classes and an English language course, but
could not complete them as she was shifted to Nasik, he said.
As soon as she was brought to Nasik jail, Zaheera approached the jailor and sought his permission to work.
She was asked to take up sewing and embroidery, which she readily agreed to.
"Today, Zaheera is a happy person," said Deshpande, who visited Nasik jail to meet her, recently.
