The Congress Friday said that any decision with regard to nuclear reactors on the issue of agreement with the US on separation of civil and military nuclear establishments will be taken after the scientists have taken a view on the subject.
It is a techncial decision and the government's policy would be based on what the scientists decide about it, Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said. "Let the scientists decide first before the government will decide," he added.
Singhvi dismissed the suggestion that policy decision on Iran should have the approval of Parliament, saying all executive decisions cannot be routed through Parliament.
"This will paralyse the functioning of parliamentary democracy. Nowhere in a parliamentary democracy in the world was there the practice of having parliamentary approval for every executive decision," he maintained.
"The matter can of course be raised in Parliament by anybody. Discussion in Parliament is not prevented," he added.
