Heavy rains during the last two days did not spare even the Poes Garden residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Official sources said the compound of the residence as well as the road in front were waterlogged due to incessant downpour in the last two days.

All efforts were being made to clear the water, they said.

However, the chief minister went around several areas in the city and directed officials to take all measures to alleviate the sufferings of rain-affected people.

Even the Ripon Building, the Chennai Corporation headquarters, was waterlogged, they said.
