Rubbishing allegations that some people had gone from India to Bangladesh to carry out bomb blasts in that country, India Friday night expressed "deep shock" and "dismay" at the accusations by the visiting Bangladesh Rifles chief in this regard.

"This is a baseless and scurrilous allegation and is all the more shocking because it has been made against a friendly country and particularly after the two countries have had useful and constructive talks between the BDR and Border Security Force," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
"The government of India is deeply shocked and dismayed at the remarks," the MEA said.
The ministry was responding to remarks by BDR chief Maj Gen Jehangir Alam Choudhury at a press conference that people from India had gone across and were involved in the August 17 serial blasts in that country.
