Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishenchand Advani on Tuesday expressed confidence in Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said he will complete the remaining three years in the state.
"I am sure he will complete his full term as chief minister," Vajpayee said soon after Chouhan was sworn in as the state's 28th chief minister.
Advani said Chouhan will discharge his duties efficiently.
"I am confident that he will perform his duties in an able and efficient manner," he said.
Both declined comment on senior party leader Uma Bharti, who had opposed Chouhan's choice.
