The success of the Left Front in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation polls was due to the positive policies undertaken by the West Bengal government, Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacherjee said on Tuesday.
"It (the success) was also due to the fact that the opposition parties were also in total disarray," he said after the Left Front wrested the prestigious Kolkata Municipal Corporation from the Trinamool-Bharatiya Janata Party combine in the civic polls.

"The poll outcome has increased our responsibilities for carrying out development work in the metropolis," he said.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist led Left Front clinched majority when it secured 75 out of the 139 seats, results of which were declared so far.
The elections to 141-ward KMC were held on Sunday.
