Mumbai police on Sunday night arrested underworld don Chhota Rajan's elder brother Prakash Nikhalje and booked him under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Crime Act for allegedly demanding money from a builder in Chembur in North East Mumbai.
Investigating Officer Nagesh Lohar said that Prakash was called for questioning on Sunday evening.
After four to five hours of interrogation, the police were not satisfied with Nikhalje's explanation and booked him under MCOCA.
The 53-year-old Prakash was working as clearing agent in the railways, and this is the first time he is arrested for criminal charges, Lohar said.
Prakash will be produced before MCOCA Court Judge Abhay Thipsay at Mazgaon on Monday.
