Naeem Khan, alleged aide of extradited gangster Abu Salem and wanted accused in Pradeep Jain murder case, has been arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai Police, Deputy Inspector General Jayjit Singh informed on Monday.
Naeem was arrested soon after he arrived from Dubai.
He will be produced before TADA judge P V Bavkar on Tuesday.
According to police, Naeem allegedly collected extortion amount from businessmen and handed it over to Salem. He had also reportedly collected money from Jain in early '90s on behalf of Salem.
Jain was gunned down allegedly on Salem's order in March 1995 after he refused to sell a plot to another builder at a
throwaway price, police said.
Naeem was based in Dubai and used to operate from the Gulf on telephone, police added.
