Delhi High Court prevailed over industrialist Sunjay Kapur and his wife Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor on tuesday to talk to each other to sort out their differences amicably in the interest of their 5-month-old daughter Samaira.
Justice Mukul Mudgal adjourned till September 15 the hearing on Sunjay's petition seeking to restrain his celebrity wife from taking Samaira abroad after counsel from both sides agreed to the court's suggestion to settle their discord without creating much ill-will towards each other.

In fact, senior counsel Ashok Desai representing Sunjay was agreeable to the suggestion but Karisma's lawyers had some reservations about it as they said earlier attempts to settle the discord did not fructify.
Justice Mudgal asked the media to leave the courtroom for some time after lawyers from both the parties agreed to talk to each other in the court itself.
Later, they were called inside the Judge's chamber. The court asked the parties to report back the progress made in thrashing out their differences by the next date. Sunjay was present in the court during the hearing.
At the start of hearing on Tuesday, Desai urged the court to conduct in-camera proceedings contending excessive media coverage of the case was making it difficult for the parties to hold negotiations.

Karisma's counsel Mahesh Jethmalani said it was a writ petition and not a matrimonial case and arguments were to be addressed on legal points relating to issuance of passport to Samaira and not personal allegations.
The court, however, made it clear that the media would not completely be barred from attending the proceedings as it has the right to coverage.
