Reliance Energy Chairman Anil Ambani apologised to the company's customers on Tuesday for not being able to supply power to some parts of the rain hit metropolis.
"I personally apologise to each and every individual customer of ours for the grave inconvenience caused to them for the last one week," Ambani told a press conference in Mumbai.
Pointing out that the heavy rains were unprecedented, he personally regretted the inconvenience caused to the company's 24 lakh customers.
Terrible Tuesday: Mumbai copes with a calamity
"The events of the last two weeks were neither predicted nor was there any adequate preparation done by our city," Ambani said. "We were compelled to switch off power during the first 48 hours in consultation with state authorities, but I am happy that not a single casualty has been reported in our very vast customer base of 24 lakh across 384 km," he added.
