The controversy surrounding the rights to the property of late actress Parveen Babi took a new turn on Friday.
Babi's cousin Murad Khan produced before a court in Junagadh a copy of a will written three years ago, giving him 'the administrative rights over all her properties in Mumbai and Junagadh and also her bank lockers'.
Khan claimed the will was written by Babi on July 26, 2002.
"The will instructs me to form a trust under her name and that all moveable and immoveable properties, bank accounts, jewellery and contents of her bank locker at Junagadh be managed by the trust and that, too, for the needy and her relatives," Khan said.
Khan said he has also given a copy of the will to a court in Mumbai where he has filed a petition seeking 'authority' over Babi's Juhu flat.
However, eight other relatives of Babi said through their advocate that the will could be 'fake'.
Khan said as per the will, Babi wanted him to acquire from the state government the haveli in Junagadh where she spent her early days and wanted to convert it into a memorial in the name of her mother Jamal Bhakte.
The matters concerning Babi's property will be heard in courts in Mumbai and Junagadh next month as per the separate petitions filed.
