"I am going to the meeting with an open mind. There is a need for developing a relationship and an understanding and I am going there to do that. Understanding each other would be the best way to move forward the dialogue process," Musharraf said during a press conference.
The Pakistan president said he is not going to the meeting with Singh slated for Friday morning with some kind of resolution in hand. " I do not think we are going to sit there and discuss options and then come with a solution. That will follow subsequently," he said.
"The more important thing is to judge intentions to reinforce towards moving on a path of peace through resolution of dispute," he added.
When he was reminded that there had never been a peace accord between a man in uniform in Pakistan and India, he said he was hopeful that this is what is going to happen. "I want to create a record," he said in a lighter vein.
Musharraf said that the signals, through whatever statements have been mutually made, give positive and optimistic indications. "I am satisfied [with these]. So far, so good," Mush said.
