"President (George) Bush is looking forward to welcoming President (Pervez) Musharraf of Pakistan to the White House on December 4," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters Monday.
"This visit will be an opportunity for the two Presidents to continue discussing the war on terrorism and their long-term vision for US-Pakistan relations."
On Indo-Pak relations, he said that there has been a lot of progress made to reduce tension in the region. Positive steps have been taken by the two countries and Secretary of State Colin Powell has been involved in those efforts for quite some time.
"It is something the President (Bush) talks directly with the two leaders of those countries about on a fairly regular basis. These are issues that come up in their discussions and in their meetings. And the President will continue to talk with them about those issues," he said.
"We are also working with these countries to wage a global war on terrorism. There are many common security challenges that we face in the 21st century. And there are a lot of ways we can work together to enhance security for all civilized countries in the world. And that is what the President will continue to do," he said.
