The Jamaat-ud-Dawa, parent unit of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, organised an anti-India meeting a stone's throw away from a reception hosted for Indian cricketers by Punjab province Chief Minister Pervez Elahi on Tuesday night.
As the dinner progressed at the historic Lahore Fort, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, headed by former LeT chief Hafeez Mohammad Saeed, held a meeting at the Minar-e-Pakistan, the monument erected to commemorate the Lahore Declaration in 1942.
The emerging peace process between India and Pakistan and the ongoing cricket series was criticised at the conference held to observe Pakistan National Day.
Activists chanted slogans opposing cultural and sports ties with India.
Saeed alleged that the peace process and the cricket series were being initiated to demoralise "freedom fighters".
