A British teacher was shot dead in his home in the central Pakistani city of Multan late Thursday by unidentified people, police said.
Allan Cox, 50, who had been teaching secondary school students in the city for the past eight to 10 years, was killed while sitting in his rented house, local police chief Hamid Mukhtar Gondal said.
The house was located in a densely populated area of the city.
"He was a tutor by profession. We are investigating this case from all aspects whether it is terrorist activity, or personal enmity," Gondal told AFP. "We are contacting his students to know about the people who used to meet him daily or sit with him."Documents recovered from Cox show he was a resident of Manchester, the officer said, adding that the British High Commission (embassy) in Islamabad had been informed about his death.
