India is confident that a conducive atmosphere will be created for talks with Pakistan provided cross-border terrorism ends and the infrastructure for training terrorists in Pakistani territory is dismantled, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said on Tuesday.
"Some steps have already been taken and more will be taken," Vajpayee told reporters before embarking on a three-nation tour to Germany, Russia and France.
Asked whether he was meeting United States President George W Bush, he said, "I don't know about any such meeting at the moment."
PMO sources said that Vajpayee will have scheduled bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Jacques Chirac, Chinese President Hu Jintao and German Chancellor Gerhard Schoreder during his week-long trip.
