The Central Industrial Security Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the Mumbai airport incident on Saturday, in which its constable Raj Namdeo killed his Deputy Commandant A R Karandekar and held six colleagues hostage for seven hours, sources said on Monday.
All the witnesses to the shooting incident and colleagues of Namdeo and Karandekar will be examined to ascertain what exactly provoked the constable to take the extreme step, they said.
As per initial reports, Namdeo killed his superior after the latter allegedly turned down his repeated pleas for leave.
The sources said no suspension order has so far been issued against Namdeo though he is believed suspended from his services for being arrested and spending more than 48 hours in prison.
