The Mumbai police have detained a person suspected to have planted the bomb in a local train, which exploded at the Mulund railway station on March 13 killing 11 people and injuring 60 others.

The suspect, Samir Mulla, was detained at Malegaon near Nasik on Tuesday, police said. Mulla is being interrogated by the crime branch, they said.

Earlier this week, police had arrested Adnan Mulla, brother-in-law of the prime conspirator Nachan, at the Padgah village in neighbouring Thane district. He is suspected to have played an important role in procuring arms, the sources said.

Police are searching for the other associates of the bomb blast accused. Last week they unearthed a cache of arms and ammunition during raids at two places on the outskirts of Mumbai.
