Cauvery River Authority
meeting on Sunday

A meeting of the Cauvery River Authority has been convened in Delhi on Sunday in the wake of failure of the Monitoring Authority to evolve a consensus over formula for sharing of the river waters among the member states.

A communication conveying the convening of the meeting by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is the chairman of the Authority, was received by Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna, who has been camping in Delhi seeking an early meeting.

Besides Krishna, the chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry are members of the Authority.
