Bhopal all set for President Kalam's visit

President A P J Abdul Kalam will be visiting Bhopal on Thursday to inaugurate the Rs 60 crore National Judicial Academy built near the Kerwa Kothi of former chief minister Arjun Singh and meet those affected by the Bhopal gas leak at the Memorial Hospital.

The academy will train judges from various parts of the country. The project was started during the tenure of Chief Justice Ahmadi.

The President will be welcomed by the Chief Justice of India B N Kripal, six Supreme Court judges, six ex-CJIs, 21 sitting Chief Justices of various high courts and 19 sitting judges.

The President would also be visiting the remote village of Torni in Khandwa district, where he would witness water management works, biotech activities and interact with the villagers and women self-help groups, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan release.

He is also slated to participate in an interactive programme with school children at the state assembly, where he would formally release the Jan Shiksha Adhiniyam.
