Final shape being given to 'Nab Veerappan' operations

Senior officials of the Union Home Ministry along with the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments are in the process of giving final shape to a joint strategy to nab brigand Veerappan, official sources said on Tuesday.

The Centre has promised the two state governments all kinds of technical assistance to reinforce the joint operations being conducted by them in the Satyamangalam forests on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border, following the abduction of JD(U) leader H Nagappa by Veerappan.

The officials will be meeting in Delhi on Wednesday to chalk out the nitty-gritty of the operations, on which Advani is personally keeping a close watch, the sources said.
