Congress wants to prevent splitting
of secular vote in Gujarat

Congress on Thursday said it would hold talks with like-minded parties to avoid a split in the secular vote in Gujarat where the assembly poll has been scheduled for December 12.

Senior party leaders and state unit president Shankarsinh Vaghela would take the initiate in this regard, AICC general secretary Ambika Soni told PTI.

"The communal forces have to be defeated, not only in Gujarat but also at the national level," Soni said at a function in Delhi to flag off mobile health clinics.
